Entry from: Copenhagen, Denmark Entry Title: "Day 5" Entry: "Glorious sunshine greeted us this morning, and we have enjoyed a further days sightseeing around Copenhagen. We discovered that the name of our favourite pastry translates to "Cinnamon Snail" which is accurate and made us laugh! Our first attraction today was the Dansk Design Centre. For a nation renowned for their designers and design sense, the museum is slightly disappointing. The exhibits themselves are interesting enough: contemporary Danish Fashion (borrows heavily from the S&M/fetish scene apparently!), design students final year projects, a very good exhibit on bicycle design and a pretentious and slightly worthy exhibition on consumerism and the horrors of 21st century life with a serious point to make about modern values and sustainability. The restaurant is nice enough with furniture used from previous exhibitions. But there's barely anything on design heritage - something the Danes have in spades. There's a darkened alley of international design classics (an iMac, Gillette razor, Dyson vacuum cleaner, model of an Audi TT etc), but it's tucked away in the basement next to the toilets! Why? Our Danish friends told us it's because it's a design centre, not a design museum: it looks forward, not back. Not sure if I entirely buy that ... Clearblue Pregnancy Test Buy
